The monsters are here...

I got my finger puppet monsters last night and today I did a little sketch of some of them. The real monsters moved a bit when I set them on the floor to photograph them, so they are no longer at the same angle as their sketched counterparts. I like to think these monsters wouldn't stay stationary for very long anyway. As I've mentioned, I do want to do some paintings, but I'll have to wait until tonight or tomorrow to get started. I rounded up some old batteries and I was able to find a combo that worked long enough for me to snap a few photos. I really do hate not having a scanner. It takes away all of my blogging inspiration and spontaneity. I like to draw something, scan it immediately and then do my blog post. If I draw something and then wait a few days to scan it at work, it's just not the same. When you get used to having a certain technology, it's hard to live without it. I would imagine that most people find it perfectly fine to not have a scanner, but they aren't into working with images on the Internet. To me, a scanner is almost a necessity. On the other hand, I've lived several months without t.v. and I'm perfectly fine with that, but a lot of people would find that unfathomable. And in their defense, I do have to say that I've still been watching t.v., but I've been watching on my computer.

As for the monsters, I know their speech isn't readable. The one is saying "George, I hears youse got scabies" and the other replies "yo mama got scabies." The nice monster, who is not so smart, is just saying "lalala."

I also snapped a photo of my pears. It was taken with a flash which is never good for paintings, but the light isn't good enough in here for me to do photography sans flash. I do want to paint a line of my monsters, just like these pears. I'll get to that one of these days.

i heart the monsters and the pears. I totally understand your frustration and decreased inspiration due to loss of scanner capacity. I am glad you were able to get some photos to share and to find enough inspiration to share your post and pics with me. I do so heart those monster--and they do appear to be the active sort of monster indeed.
